Phi Delta Phi

About the Cooley Chapter

Founded in 1993, Cooley’s Phi Delta Phi chapter of the John Maher Inn is committed to helping its membership live our lives and pursue our legal careers on a higher standard of professionalism, ethics, integrity, and morals.

The membership prides itself on the commitment to promoting those higher standards within Cooley and the legal community.

In addition to publication of a newsletter one-three times a year and numerous community-service projects, the John Maher Inn also sponsors an annual symposium, a Wine and Cheese Networking Event, and a distinguished student award.

During the fall semester, Wine and Cheese is our spectacular event.  This is an opportunity for students to meet with attorneys and Phi Delta Phi Alumni/Members.  During the spring semester, Phi Delta Phi hosts a symposium that focuses on professionalism and ethics.  An example of a past symposium topic was "Ethical Obligations in the Law: Balancing Professionalism v. Reality."

As of August 2007, Cooley’s Center for Ethics, Service, and Professionalism has formed a partnership with Phi Delta Phi based on mutual commitments to Integrity in the Legal Profession. Together we help bring speakers to Cooley to discuss ethical issues in the legal field.
